Mexico, some Unvarnished Truths

It's not all pineapples and butterflies down here, folks. Though sometimes it is! Roofs leak.  I'll never NOT be the tall American freak. Hummingbirds are recalcitrant. It's hard to get a good haircut if you're a stylish girl dog. Mangoes get worms. Overzealous housekeepers mistake curious curandera custom liniment as used up martini olives. Street dogs can't seem to stop eating the firewood. Kitties would rather sleep in a real tree than the hundred dollar one you bought at Costco. Turmeric hauled from Canada by a clever friend doesn't always thrive. Mexicans don't usually treat their dogs the way I would like. But still...
